Hello, Classmates!
I'm Mary Siegel and I'm taking Dreamweaver so I can learn how to do better web sites. So far all I have used is Netscape Composer, and I'd like to get into things a bit more deeply. Heck, I just found out about FTP a few weeks ago. That is a MUCH faster way to upload than the Netscape Publish program.
For a little intro, I am a retired Medical Technologist, a widow, and a mother of 5 kids, all grown and gone. I have been involved with showing dogs most of my life, first Collies, then Samoyeds, German Shepherds, and finally Afghan Hounds and Salukis. When I was no longer able to show my own dogs (running around the show ring is for kids), I bought a Silky Terrier. At the moment I have 4 Salukis and one Silky. One Saluki is a champion, two are just pups but will have a show career, and the Silky is being shown at this time and is about 1/3 of the way towards having his championship completed. The non-showdog is one of my first salukis, a 10 year old girl who was never shown and just puts up with the rest of these "young whippersnappers."
I currently have a web site for my email list, ShowDogs-L and I intend to construct my personal web site for my dogs. I know I am doing some things the hard way on the SDL pages. These are my main reasons for studying Dreamweaver.
I got my first computer in 1978 and have watched the progression from the Radio Shack Model I to the Coco, Model IV, my first PC, then all the upgrades until I finally had a Pentium. Still not content, I have ordered a new computer and will soon be moving from the ranks of the PC to Apple.
See you in class!
